A critical part of the billing process and used widely across allied health professions, medical codes are universal shorthand for describing office visits, procedures and treatments, as well as the diagnosis or reason for the service.
As essential as medical codes are, hospitals, insurance companies and medical practices often find it difficult to find and hire certified Medical Coders.
